This is a small update, I just wanted to fill you in on whats going on.

Collision engine - I sucked up my pride, and admitted to my self that my current engine sucks. So, I am now using the SC v5.01 grid nav system. Heres how it works:

The player sprite never moves, instead the level moves around the player. For collisions, I need to manually program the collision box of every object. Yes, this takes longer, but the result is smoother animation, and non - buggy collision. This will let me add these features to the game:

Height differences, Weather effects, and and cool pseudo - 3d feel.

ASLO, some stuff about the battle system.

Maelstrom's battle system is entirely my own invention, which I am proud of. Its a mix between a FFT style battle, and FPS (!) and a traditional turn - based battle. More on that in the next update.

Now, for the big news.....

MAELSTROM WILL BE A MULTI - PLATFORM RELEASE!

Thats right, not only will you be able to play the project on mac osx and os 9, but you will be able to play (a different version of it) on a Ipod and a gameboy advance. (a sega dreamcast version may come out later).

I've been experimenting with console programming for a while (sega saturn, dreamcast, ect.) and I'm pretty confident in my ability to make a GBA program. I'm not promising a complete GBA port, but there will be some version of the game for that system.

COOL? YES ITS GODDAMN COOL!

Yes, it will run off of a gba emulator, no it is not for linux (currently), and yes, I am going to buy blank gameboy cartridges to put the game on (i already have a dev kit)

I can't legally sell gba cartridges with out getting a license from nintendo... which I technically could (i'm using a official dev kit)

That, and create bootleg versions of famous films, then sell them to people through eBay and earn millions because the people that bought them thought they were comedy films.
