I am currently working on writing a story for a machinima. The only problem is that there are many brilliant ideas I have in mind. Here are just a few of them that really stand out as well-thought plots for something to be recorded in a video-game such as Halo 3. These are very brief and of course abridged with little details. I don't want to give everything away yet.
1. The story is of three characters. The main protagonist, who is a transport for his best friends, uses foolish tactics one day that get his two friends killed in combat. The man returns to his command center like a defeated samurai, but has second thoughts about continuing the campaign without his fellow units who were dear to him. He decides to take more men, and jumps back into hell(metaphorically). When he enters another battle, he faces another dilemma. He could sacrifice himself or be foolish once again. He decides to throw his life at the enemy, and save is last men. Once he is dead he is assumed to be reunited with his pals again. Everyone is happy because the rioters and rebels were eliminated thanks to the courageous efforts from the men who died.
2. This story also has three characters and basically the same things happen. However, all three die in the prologue. It's still by the main character's mistake, but he must pay in hell(figurative hell, afterlife). He has to retell the story to mankind in order to make sure these mistakes do not repeat themselves. I thought this really taught some sort of moral. Anyways, while he retells the story and slowly comes out of his shell, he becomes more confident. His character is bad to well, and feels alive again. Suddenly when he retells the fatal time where he completely messes up, somebody from somewhere gave him a second chance. This is also very moral. Right before he reaches his dilemma he saves himself and the two appreciated men and they end happily.
These are two very similar ideas. Please tell me what sounds more appealing to you and put it in the poll.
Thank you,
