I thought I'd make a separate topic for me to post updates for the GBA version of Maelstrom.
IMPORTANT - The GBA version WILL NOT be the same as the mac version. Hell, it most likely won't even be an rpg. Why? You go try and make a gba RPG with little knowledge of C and see how far you get.
Heres a list of things I've completed, and things I need to do (in terms of building the engine)
COMPLETED -
1. I finished installing, compiling, and setting up the SDK 2. I successfully wrote and compiled a few stupid "hello world" tests. (they run on a gameboy emulator ) 3. I compiled and set up my sprite, tile, map, and palette convertors. 4. I'm beginning work on a side scrolling engine.
TO DO -
1. Fix the fucking SDK (currently, the sdk (makefile, source code, ect.) is living on my Macbook, and all of my file convertors are on my PC. This means that whenever I need a sprite or any other graphic, I need to put the image on my flashdrive, stick it in my pc, convert it, and put it back on the mac) 2. Figure out how to do parallax scrolling 3. work on the engine.
Work on this will be pretty slow, as I'm still learning the C language.

Work on this has progressed a lot, but I do have a small problem (not development related)
GBA carts are relatively expensive ($20 for the crappy ones - $100[!] for the really good ones). Therefore, I'm trying to keep my project small so I can buy cheaper carts. The problem is that if I utilize the GBA's SRAM (aka the backup saving), it will cause the size of my project to go up a lot, forcing me to buy more expensive carts (and adding at least $10 the the game's final price).
So... which do you prefer: a more expensive game that you will be able to save, or a less expensive game that you need you use passwords to continue?
Vote now, I'm going to buy a few carts for testing soon.

I thought you were at 85%. Doesn't matter. The point is, lay low until you prove yourself, making your warn go down.
