CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY

Ok... as I'm sure everyone has noticed, development has been going (extremely) slow. The reasons for this are as follows:

1. Game development is not fun. Until I get to designing levels, it really sucks.

2. I've been trying to work on multiple projects at once (mac version, intel mac version, gba version, sega saturn version, ect)

3. I go to school, so I have to do homework... which takes a long time.

4. I can't (and won't) dedicate all of my time to working on the game.

5. I'm lazy...

Something needs to change:

1. I completely change an important aspect of the game... like making there be less characters, ect.

2. I drop the gba version (for now anyway)

If I cut characters from the game, I'll be able to start designing levels immediately... but it will fuck up the game's story, and overall concept. Also, I've already designed and written background stories for all my characters, and so of course I think that they're awesome.

If I drop the GBA version, I drop the one reason that anyone outside the mac development community (and this forum) would want to play the game... but I easily will be able to dedicate at least another hour a day to working on the mac version. The GBA version is kind of stupid anyway...

if i had a mac and knew the type of programing etc... you are doing and stuff i would be more than happy to lighten the load for you, but i do not so....

basically, I'm thinking about dropping the GBA version of the game, and I want to know what you think.

i cant play without GBA

This is quite a predicament we have here, I'm not sure which one we should choose.

i know that this website splits about half and half maybe more on the windows side when it comes to operating systems.

what about linux! lol, anyway the gba is the only way i would be able to play it....

I thought Linux was OS X/Windows compatible for the most part.

I'd say, drop the GBA version till the Mac version is done.

Maybe I can get some people to help me make a windows port of the game... Pheonix, do you really have vb.net?

I have the freeware version... wouldn't it be better to develope with C++.NET or Microsoft's DarkGDK?

DarkGDK is meant for 3d games... and there is no point in using C++ for a 2d computer game.

ok so my opinion is that you drop the gba one

1. if you attempt to do the gba version the storyline will suck, and if you do the characters nobody will want to use the game outside of the mac community,

2. so i say drop the gba one, b/c if you drop the characters, then youll have a mediocre game, and then less ppl in both communities, gba and mac will play it, so choose to drop the gba and have a better game

I decided to drop the gba version until I'm at least 50% done with the mac version.

How much do child slaves go for these days?
Perhaps they can aid you in your programming.

Child slaves are quite an investment... not only does one have to pay the upfront cost, but other items such as poison and food must also be purchased.
