Since this is such a growing topic (atleast throughout my part of the world) i belive it is something worth talking about, what do you think about it, should men and women have the same rights? AKA should men and women be payed the same at the work place? Should men help out more at home? and so on.... What is your opinion?
According to me, men and women should be payed the same, and men should help a bit more with household chores.......
But if they should have the same rights, shouldnt guys just have to stop veing the ones taking iniciatives?

It's hard to break from a culture where people have been indoctrinated in a certain way. Even if you break free from the stereotypical pie-baking-stay-at-home-mom and hard-working-dad, men and women will always be different. I mean, their bodies are differently attuned so there can never be true equality. Women are better-suited for underwater environments (I read this somewhere, I don't remember the specifics as to why) so if she was hired over a man, I don't think he should be angry because her body was simply better-suited for underwater living. Of course, this is if they had equal skills. If the woman was inadequate and the man wasn't, of course he should be chosen over her. But keep in mind that men and women are simply differently attuned, so if they get hired because of their bodies' abilities, so be it.
However, simply put, yes, men and women should be granted the same rights and opportunities.

Why is this even a question? Of course men and women should have equal rights.

+Rep. Of course, equal rights also means equal draft opportunities.

I agree with everything in this statement. Yes the should have equal rights... but in the terms of pay.. there are so many other variables apart for man and woman.

This is a question cause its a big issue, and we are the smartest people around (yes we beat obama to the pie) and therefore we should talk about it...
But in tjhe case that mena and women have the same right...how would dating and all this that guys are supposed to be nice and pay for the dinner/movie/and so on?
would that disolve in a truly equal society?

Thats a good question... hmm. I guess I would say that stuff like that isn't really important or relevant, but in a truly equal society it would be done away with.

Hence my argument that there can never be true equality between men and women. There will always be differences, and we can only do what is our humanly best.

no, that kind of thing is traditional propaganda that will not just simply disappear from equal rights, it may in time be something that disappears. It's like why do non-christens(like myself) celebrate christmas? It's just something that is done regardless.

We non-Christians (or in my case, atheists) celebrate Christmas because presents. And it's fun. And I don't plan to get rid of it.

Yeah also christmas is also celebrated through tradition, even if the true(original) reason is now no longer in play(or in this case is no longer the main reason people do it.)
Also who was the dick that pressed the minus on pauls post? It was a very good post >.> and I would like hear your views on this subject?

Not much to debate here (there shouldn\'t be)... everyone is just agreeing with one another.
As for the scuba-diving thing - that isn\'t based on gender at all. The military is different however...

uhh... well I'm still kinda on topic, because the whole point I was defending you is because I want to hear the views of the person who -ve your post. They obliviously has a different opinion on it. Either that or they are just a douche. I'm interested either way.
Edit:
