I dedicate this topic for all of us that feel that Microsoft and Mac are trying to make us mad (like crazy mad, not mad mad)....

Anyways tell about weird computer related experiences (and dont lie -_-)



Since im making this topic i guess ill start

I think microsoft hates me, because i bought this little netbook for school a few months back, and about 2 weeks after it arrives it get blue screen of death while i was in the middle of a math rapport i had been working on for 4 hours (and i hadnt saved O_O)....i was pretty close to throwing it in the wall....well anyway it started up okay again after the BSOD, but the day after in school at math (my teacher let me skip the rapport since i told her about the BSOD) my computer got another BSOD, though this time it wouldnt restart...it said that i was not authorized to boot windows XP for some odd reason...at that point i acually gave it a whack cause i was REALLY FUCKING MAD... well its still on repairs...and i kinda want a refund....the funny thing is that one of the schools computers got the same problem after i used it xD

And that is why i think Microsoft hates me....

I'm hard on computers... I download and install so much stuff that they get slow quickly. My old iMac is completely broken (no apps launch), my current MacBook is slow as hell (I have countless frameworks and a mostly full HD), and my gaming PC is still dead due to a shorted out motherboard.

All those in favor of banning these two from all computers on existence?

Heres a little story, All my life I have lived with linux computers, and all my life I never once had a virus.
Then one day I went to school... plug my flash drive in did some work etc...
came home when on my windows(with linux) pc to play some games and do some more work.
WHOLE MACHINE INFECTED FROM OVER 20 DIFFERENT VIRUS'S!!!!!!!!!

and then the school trys to blame me for infecting there computers when in truth they infected me....

Lolfail @ aids infestation. Trick to not getting viruses on windows: Don't be stupid. Private trackers for dls, careful with pronz, and you don't need anything better than free AV.

hehe i used ti install a bug on my old schools computers that did so when you started IE you got a screen that looked like those Matrix symbols falling down, and you couldnt quit it without a reboot =D

Batch files FTW

Laser mouse randomly flicks around the screen when using a slightly reflective surface, really annoying when using photoshop.

File names disappear when trying to edit them but you can still edit the text, only happened twice so far.

System becoming totally unreactive due to CPU time overload, safari usually causes it and overflows by 80% into CPU B after totally filling up CPU A to 100%. So then I get a 180% CPU time usage leaving the computer with only 20% of the global CPU time to use, locking it up completely. I've made special scripts to combat this when it happens, but damn.

I run my phone off of my internet/cable connection, and it's all parallel circuitry running through the same conduit and hardware. So one day the phone modem backfed into my $700 Netgear router/firewall combo and fried the fuck out of it. Surged about 19 volts (7 too many) into the thing. Raged hard until I got sent a brand new one for free.

Had finder constantly quit and restart over and over again after I hacked some of the resource files, a startup file caused it because of a bad directory placement.

You are truly the king of the nerds =O

The same thing happened to me! I had to log in as root and fix it.

Which is why I now use my mouse on the wood of my desk.

The only computer troubles I had were in sixth grade when my computer slowly raped its hard drive to death, so I had to use Data Rescue II to save it. Sadly, almost all of my music and Halo mods died horribly. But I managed to recover Ragnarok and other stuff, so now I'm good.

bought a $2500 tank, worked for a year, then placed it between my desk and my wall, overheated daily. I was like, Fuck this game.

then I moved it and it was fine. dual 8800s work quite well with crysis.

I'm getting a 5970 for my new PC... or I would be if they were in stock for more than 5 seconds at a time. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU

I have a 4850 (1 gb version) for mine.

Anyway this is a story that happened to my friend a copy of weeks ago.

Windows decided that his pc randomly needed an update(it didn't and he had turned updates off)
so it up dated... then when ever you turned it on it would get to the boot up stage then restart, over and over again.
We still don't know fully why but it was something to do with the update.
So he brought it round to my house use a recovery disc with sp1 to restore it.
worked and installed sp1. Made absolute sure that updates was off and it needed permission to install blah blah.
He took it home updated to sp3 and then it did the extra update without asking him again and his pc is stuffed again XD
I suggested he bring it round again and we get it to sp2 and leave it at that. But he said nah and planing to sell the parts and get a better pc XD

That sucks.. it's strange that an update would break it.

Microsoft, never thinking of conflicting apps even when it comes to their own damn updates.

yeah It would be some piece of hardware not working with the update or something...
It don't matter no more.. apparently he has a MAC now.

anyways...o found a new computer mouse....i usually scavange the harsh wastes of the livingroom for stuff, cause i usually find cash...its good income, anyways i found a pretty good bluetooth mouse, i luv it and it luves me back, we are a family noaw.

nice, but in my opinion the best mouse(for gaming and other stuff) is a USB Microsoft brick(the only thing they make good)
fits nicely in your hand and has a good length cable.
I've used no mouse better than it, and i've used a lot of mouses.
