i wonder how the haloverse would have looked today if microsoft hadnt been so selfish and kept it the way it was first promised to be...

Spoiler:
Bits of it(ok most of it) looks like the halo beta for pc(which was made long before the xbox game.) but other bits look like a halo ce machinima. Mainly all the running with marines and the talking and the look of master chef.(in the beta he looked completely different.) But the look of the vehicles and sceneray and the animals/dinosaur thingys are all unmistakenly the beta. But I still don't trust the credibility of this video for a couple of reasons.
When I first saw videos and pictures of the beta I spent many days surfing the web trying to find some sign of a possible download(if there was one I wanted it, which there isn't btw.) 1. I never saw any sign in any of my findings of a gauss warthog 2. All findings had master chef in a slightly different armour that was nothing like the final xbox/pc product which you see in this video. 3. 90%(ok maybe not that high percent.) of the lines were used in the final game but in lots of different parts and they are all common quotes(this is something I find alot of machinimas do, but its still possible that bungie came up with those lines in a beta. But the fact that they are all in one cut scene? not as likely.) 4. I wouldn't think that bungie were as stupid enough to have one of the elites say an old english saying "good hunting" 5. In all my time searching for the beta I never came across this pertical video(this reason ties in with 1 and 2.)
besides all that it still felt a bit like halo, so if it was fan made then good job for them, keep it up. If it is legit and one of the few videos I somehow missed and its further down the production track than what I found then well... I'm glad microsoft came along... they finally did something right.
Edit:Oh and if it was truly the beta then at the end master chef would not have came out out with an energy sword he would have came running out with a machete(a weapon that was in the game to equal out the energy sword on the covernant.)
edit: ok forget everything i just said, its in the spoiler there if you still want to read it. this video turns out to be one of the few i missed. Halo Beta That video tells you all the different beta stages it went through and its got some photoage from the video you posted and some of the beta stuff I found. But in the end I'm still glad microsoft took over, cause I perfer fps to tps anyday and I think I would have been less likely to hire it out all those years ago before I knew what halo was. But I still want that beta for the machete and the rts verson!! lol

To be fair, it probably wouldn't have turned into the gigantic and successful franchise that it is today.

It might even not been released at all, cause of the constant changes of game type.
