I just beat AP, it was by far the best game I've played in a while, right up to the last five minutes (ending was great, just expected it to be longer; it didn't tie up all the loose ends). It's essentially Modern Warfare meets Mass Effect; you play as a rogue US Agent who has to take down a corrupt weapons corporation trying to start a new cold war/world war III, and eliminate terrorists, Russian mobsters, and prevent an assassination on the way.

How deep are the RPG aspects? From the trailers it kind of looks like a generic 3rd-person shooter.

RPG aspects are not extremely deep. Investing points you get from leveling gives you slight stat upgrades and unlocks new abilities (like lining up shots while behind cover, pausing time to aim, temporary lock on for assault rifles, etc.

It was actually very good. While the gameplay wasn't the best (somewhere between ME1 and ME2 in quality), the storyline and the decisions you make have much more impact than they did in the ME series (i.e. kill terrorist arms dealer, or keep him alive so you can bug his communications to get info). Another cool aspect is the Intel system. All information you collect about characters and factions is stored in a file, which you can read to find out how best to manipulate them to get the results you want in conversations, and the most effective ways to fight them.
