Attacking a person's character is perfectly in line when he's spraying his vitriol all over the damn place when I call him out on marketing either just writing, which no one wants to read, or for having unoriginal content. We're not a forum of his mom and dad, telling him how to write better. Most of writing lays in what you're writing about, anyways. Am I not allowed to call himself out on this?

And secondly, he flat out states he's hoping to get paid for posting advertisements on his blog, which is disgusting because it slowly constricts the life out of whatever content a writer's got. Yes, I use cursing, but that's only because I see this type of shit daily. No one understands that they're not special for writing generic posts, and that they're especially not special if they're writing just for the sake of making words.

If I don't call his character out on this, he'll assume something else is the problem. If he realizes that it's a character flaw to have such veiled narcissism (true narcissism, unlike mine, which is used for comedic effect) towards his writing, then he'll never improve.

Besides, this is a forum with five people on it. Moderating powers are redundant anyways, barring the posting of goatse.cx or something. You're just immature if you're locking the entire thread because you can't get past the fact that I used curse words.

I'm going to treat myself and let someone else respond to this.

I really hate to continue this argument, and I hope that it will end here, but I want criticism for OUTSIDE sources, people I know personally have very biased opinions, and I more or less know them well enough to know what they are going to say. People on the internet, however, are not constricted to knowing that they will have to see me all the time after responding, allowing for much less biased responses.

Also, I don't intend to "make money" off of this, the AdSense thing is a on-the-side idea that I won't even start unless I actually post original content that draws more than a few readers. If you had paid attention, then you would already know that.

If I am coming off as narcissistic, then it is unintentional, and I apologize, but it is not something that I can just change. If you don't like it, then either respond constructively or not at all. Again, if you had paid attention, then you would have already known that.

Finally, and I hope to god you actually read this far, do NOT reprimand the mods for doing their job, I was out of line for calling you a dick, and I apologize. If the topic wasn't locked, I would have removed that portion of my response. The only reason they called you out on your posts was because you were coming on very strong in a very insulting manner.

I probably don't have the right to even post this response, but I just want you to understand. Don't continue this pointless argument of values in character any further, it just makes both of us lose face.

No, I said that I have posted unoriginal content, hoping that a few outside people would take just a few minutes to read it and tell me what is wrong with it. Hopefully I will start posting original content sometime in the future once I am a better writer, and if I happen to have steady traffic, then I will most likely use AdSense.

Look, I am sorry if I caused a "flame war". Believe me when I say that it was unintentional. All I intended was to post the link to a blog, hoping that maybe 1 or 2 people might decide to take 5 minutes out of their day to read and respond with a few tips. All I got was criticism without any sort of true advice about the subjects of the posts and my character/moral values.

I will leave now, and I don't intend to try this experiment again. I am sorry if I offended anyone, but I honestly expected a lot more from this forum. I expected at least 1 person to somewhat grasp what my original concept was, and I was wrong as no one really bothered to think about what I said for longer than it took to type their response. I apologize for intruding.

I never got the impression that the blog was a gimmick for generating money through AdSense or that it was wholly unoriginal. The universe is very large? Yeah - I knew that, but what's wrong with encouraging discussion about it, or even just honing your skills as a writer? (This isn't investigative journalism, folks.) And anyway, had anyone heard of Here Come the Zombies before visiting the blog?
