Never playing forge again...

If you own halo 3, then be warned. If you haven't heard of it yet there have been sights of ghosts roaming around different forge maps of halo 3. This scares the shit out of me. idk why because i'm not too easily scared but when I'm in a situation where i'm all alone in mah friken basement and I see something sort of like this https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/silbaughkj/haloghost.jpg
i get pretty scared (that's not the actual site btw). I've been killed by the guardians before at random times when i'm with 1 or 2 people in forge and i just shut my system off immediately. i'm just that scared. have any of you halo 3 players seen this shit before?

there are tons of topics of it on bungie.net forums. this definitely has gotten to other people besides me. don't worry about taht pic i posted because it's obviously shopped and the ghost wouldn't look exactly like the girl from the game FEAR. The ghosts people have sighted (and myself as well) are completely transparent, and cannot be detected in any way. They also laugh when you die.

well i did it online. i would guess if you were local the same things would happen. same if you were with another person or not. it definitely doesn't happen during matchmaking, only when it's solo or quiet enough to hear. oh yeah, about a year ago I heard strange things on halo 2 in backwash. I hated that map and I'm glad they took it out of matchmaking then..

In Halo 1 and Halo 2 there were things called "guardians".
In H1, it was NPCs killing the player.
In H2, it was a glitch of some sort.
In H3, its something Bungie implemented for unknown reasons.

Ideas anyone?

yeah i'm aware that halo 1 and 2 had guardians. that's really the only way people can refer to them... or in halo 3 they can be referred to as ghosts.. anyways, in h2, it was much more rare to be killed by the guardians because (as you said) glitches. Moving objects or vehicles could also kill you. IE on terminal if you wait long enough for the train to swoop by while you're on it's tracks, then that results in a guardian kill. In halo 3, less of that is going on than random ghosts appearing and killing you.

I remember when I was splattered when someone threw a grenade by a barrel which propelled it into my face. I was killed by the "guardians."

on narrows, if you jump down to the bottom ramp thingy (the one that is sorta "out of bounds") you will get killed by the guardians

did you know that the cone is an actual weapon in the game now? since that guy who got the recon armor posted his video on youtube, of him getting killed by the cone, on his service record, in his matchmaking stats is the cone as one of his weapons of destruction.

OMFG! I don't remember what the map is called, but it is the place with the underground with a ghost and a rocket launcher and above ground their are trees with two mongooses, but if you place two banshees on the tall things on either side of the map and get in one and fly up, you instantly die. AWESOME

no, they have boundaries on every other map. On this map you get instantly killed. Warhampster came over to my house and I proved it

no... they dont have boundaries on every other map. go on epitaph in forge and fly out side the map and you'll blow up. Same thing on guardian, the pit, and construct (and probably more but i haven't tested all of them)
