You guys should check out dawn of war or DoW on steam, it's really fun (and for the people i know, brian plays it too so c'mon and play ) and if u have a team of friends u can get good FAST. 7 races with no units alike whatsoever, and the races have different styles such as the Eldar whose buildings are all invisible, as opposed to the necrons who can eventually make theirs into a moving death fortress. Give it a try, it's awesome. (the pictures in my profile are from DoW btw, its of a "chaos race" unit called a horror squad.)

I hate necrons with a passion, their units take centuries to load and die very fast... i play chaos. Or tau. The ony good thing about necrons is the monolith mobile fortress, and tomb spyders.
